![]() As I worked my way through a series of small landscapes based on travels across the US, I was struck by the similar appearances of widely distant locales. It occurred to me to entitle the paintings only by their latitude and longitude. I planned eventually to exhibit them against a large map of North America, devoid of geopolitical detail except the national boundary and showing the parallel and meridian lines. The context would provide an interactive element in which the viewer could imagine or guess the specific locations and then plot them using the map. | |||
